Big Time Win!

Detroit, Michigan - How about the Cavaliers goin into the Palace of Terrible Referees and coming out with a huge overtime victory tonight!! I can't tell you how into this game I was, and for the first time since last year's playoffs I actually found myself screaming at the television, fist pumping, and complaining like crazy...but man does this one feel good. Part of the reason for this blissful high is a result of my hatred for the thugs from Detroit, who get every single call and then complain like babies any time a call doesn't go their way (First half stat: Cavs shot 10 free throws, Detroit shot 29). Everybody stepped it up on the defensive end, forcing 13 turnovers and more importantly playing help-side defense (most of the time).
As big of a Lebron James critic as I have been this season, I am thrilled with his reemergence as a team leader and tonight he made one hell of a statement (If you didn't get out of your seat when he swatted Rip Hamilton in overtime you shouldn't call yourself a Cavs fan). Lebron scored a season high 41 points this evening, which is most impressive because he hasn't fared too well against Detroit over the years (He certainly gets a Cursed Cleveland GameBall for this performance). I'll even forget about the missed free throws...and ok fine even the one in overtime that could have made it a two posession game. Larry Hughes has started to really impress as well (12-8-6 this evening), taking the point guard position and really getting out and running with the ball. Also, Damon Jones has apparently decided that coaching is the best way for him to get involved in the game, since he hasn't sniffed the floor in weeks... and I gotta say I like to see him in there helpin out the troops in the huddle while Mike Brown is too busy spitting in cups (Man I loved to see the intensity out of the Coach tonight, you could tell he really wanted this win).
This evening, the Cavs drew to within two games of Detroit for the coveted #1 seed in the East. With the Pistons heading out west for some very difficult games over the next few weeks, if we can keep this train runnin' we just may be sittin' on top of the conference at the end of the month. Finally, I'd like to apologize to those of you who count on me to be eternally negative regarding this Cavs team (And well pretty much everything else). I tend to be a little funnier when ripping on the teams I love, but right now I'm going to enjoy this win and get ready for the certain let down that will take place when the Cavs travel to Milwaukee on Saturday.

you guys can bitch all you want about the refs, but the cavaliers got the luckiest call in the game. Prince did not travel, never did. Never moved his pivot once. That's why they won.

Oh yeah, and good luck expecting Billups to go 2-10 next time. You're not going to get career nights out of LeShank every game in the playoffs. Can't wait to see a first round exit from the cavs when they play the heat.

The cavs played like last year and we played great defense down the stretch. Guess you can call that lucky?

I hate our coach after watching him run out of the building like a jackass. He is suppose to be the responsible one, but yet all the players stayed behind to see if the shot counted.

mike brown acted like he had never won a big game

I'm not a big Mike Brown fan, and I really am not sure he is the coach that will lead us to a championship. However, to criticize a guy for wanting a win badly and showing emotion after getting it is absolutely idiotic. This was a HUGE win for the Cavs and I personally would much rather see a coach slamming press boxes and getting pumped up after they win, then someone with no emotion. Also, Ivan the Terrible: Career nights out of lebron? You must have never watched a Cavs game I guess. The guy can score 30 anytime out and 40 is attainable any night he steps out on the court. I won't even get into your foul comment or first round exit comment because your post is by far the dumbest one I've ever seen on CursedCleveland. Haters everywhere.

Oh yeah King Nick. First of all, since using your gambling service I now have lost my house, my job, and my will to live.

Secondly, the foul discrepancy was only 8 fouls (or two per quarter not counting overtime). Sure, the free throws were unbalanced, but like that would have mattered given LeShank embarrassing himself at the free throw line. Oh yeah, nice split of the pair LeBron when the game was on the line. I guess if the other team isn't letting you dunk the basketball you're not as successful.

Also, LeShank has one of the worst jump shots ever, and he never makes long distance shots like he did yesterday. If you think he's getting those to fall consistently in the playoffs, then you're in for a rude awakening.

First of all, if going 34-14 makes you lose money, then you may need to start posting as "Lawrence Tarka". Secondly, I never once mentioned anything about fouls, and while I did see some really, really bad calls made by the refs against the cavs, I don't focus on referees. So why you're even talkin about that in response to my post is beyond me. Third, I'm not sure where all this "wait till the playoffs then you're screwed" talk is stemming from? Lebron hit 2 game winners and carried us on his back to the 2nd round, then we were a Flip Murray rebound away from knockin off the Pistons and going to the East Conf. Finals. Again, comments like "lebron has the worst jump shot ever" and "he NEVER hits shots like that" won't even be commented on due to the complete ingorance that is associated with them. Did the short bus forget to pick you up this morning or what? You win the cursedcleveland.com award for Tarka's Closest Relative of the week.

Awesome/funny post king nick about Ivan because lebron hits many distance shots in crucial times(including last night), but a lot of the great coaches in the nba don't show emotion and I am not saying thats a good thing or bad thing. I think he over reacted by running off the court and running into the locker room before anything was decided. The players had enough common sense to stick around and I would have been happy if he danced around on the court, but he looked so stupid running with nobody behind him. I felt so bad that if I was there I would have ran with him. Kind of funny, yet annoying. I understand people are happy to see the energy with our coach.

I would rather see phil jackson never move, as our coach, then see mike brown slamming press boxes after every game.

Obviously we all would rather have Phil Jackson than Mike Brown. However, if by Phil Jackson, you mean a coach who just sits on the bench the entire time, and shows no emotion, then I disagree. Also, Mike Brown running into the locker room was the smartest move he could have made. He was trying to steal a win in Detroit anyway he could and if that meant gettin his team in the locker room so they would call the game, and making himself look retarded, then he was gonna do it and I applaud him for that. Honestly, who really cares if he ran into the locker room, does that take away from the win? No. However, everyone seems to be trying their hardest to find fault in Mike Brown even after a win, and its simply annoying.

Hey king nick, don't get mad at those post because it wasn't the smartest move for me to run away w/out my team behind me. I admit I got a little excited, but I am looking forward to giving you the energy you expect from your nba coach. Let me know if your interested in coming to a home game before the season ends, right behind the bench. As this cities coach, I plan on staying in touch with all my fans and showing the great city of cleveland a championship team!

Ivan, we definitely won't get career nights out of LBJ every night. We accept that, but if you also accept that you guys lost even though Rip had 29 and C-Webb had 20-11. If you expect him to be doing 20-10s in the playoffs on those knees, think again, big man.

And oh yeah, eat a dick.
