Rizzo Returns to Radio

TERRESTRIAL RADIO - Legendary local sports personality Tony Rizzo made his triumphant return to sports talk radio today as part of ESPNR 850 WKNR's new programming lineup. His "cast of thousands" were back in full force, as Rizzo took his listeners on a virtual two-hour joyride. It was a who's who of local personalities and dignitaries that welcomed the "Riz" back to the airways, including former syndicated sport talker Chuck Booms, Detroit Sports broadcaster Matt Dery, Indians Paul Dolan, and yours truly, SportsBoy Tony.

The Fox-8 sports anchor had little trouble settling back into the role as local sports jawboner, as he took more calls in two hours than his predecessors had usually taken in a full three-hour show. For your listening pleasure, you can click on the player below for our unrehearsed conversation on today's show during the coveted 10 o'clock hour.

Nice to hear Riz this morning. I can't believe how long we've been subjected to bad radio in this town.

Seriously, how bad was Brinda?

Let it be known there is only ONE John Shaver. The imitators and fortunate few who were blessed with the same name as the Great One should refrain from all contact with Mr. Rizzo at once. Only the disciples of Shaver know the true one and the proper ways of crafting his works and spreading his name...

Soon John Shaver will be revealed to all. Will you be prepared?

Rizzo obviously cannot stand Cleveland sports teams or the Buckeyes. He can't open his mouth in a positive manner about any of it. Its apparent that he hates this city and is bitter that he still has to work here because he can't get a job elsewhere.

The best way to describe him is ... He is the same as the bandwagon jerks that now cheer for the steelers because at least they win. He doesn't want to stay true to anything unless they have a winning season.

Rizzo is not good for Cleveland. Get that jerk off the air.
