LeBron Building a House With All Those Bricks (Literally)

BATH TOWNSHIP - We're still scratching our heads why LeBron's new house, which we've known about since 2003, is all of a sudden newsworthy - that of course won't stop us from giving it more exposure. But seriously, the ABJ is impressed, as is WKYC. If you're like us, you've been openly questioning his priorities (and his taste in women) in the last calendar year. Fear not Cavs fans, he'll be working on his game each day; his bowling game. Would you believe there's not one basketball hoop in the entire place - all 35,000 sq ft of it? If ever there was a place he could not work on his free throws, you would assume his mansion would be that place. And don't be fooled LeBron fans, there's absolutely an ostentatious side of LeBron you never get to see (if we're not counting the contrived pregame ritual stolen from MJ, or the facial expressions he has to make after a wide open dunk when he's busy not getting back on defense); a limestone sculpture of himself. Cavs Fall in South Beach

MIAMI - If someone would have told you that Shaq and D. Wade would combine for 19 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists, you probably would've thought that the Cavaliers would lose and that D. Wade missed the game and possibly the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder injury. If so, you'd be right. The Cavs are now only one full game ahead of the Bulls and the #5 spot in the East. The Cavs shot just 36 percent from the field, dropping their record to 1-12 when they shoot under 40 percent. LeBron had a game-high 29 points, but was just 7 of 12 from the free throw line, dropping him to 58 percent on the season from the line. That's just ridiculously bad for someone who's supposed to take over games in the fourth quarter, which he failed to do, again.

So here's what he know at this point: Regardless of the specific player rotations, regardless of how well LeBron plays, regardless of whether Larry Hughes misses eight contested jump shots or nine...this team is inept offensively. They clearly need help, fortunately the trade deadline is only...umm, well there goes that idea. Continue Entry»

Less Winter and More Bad Basketball

PUNXSUTAWNEY PA - According to everyone's favorite groundhog, An early spring is right around the corner. Unfortunately for Cavs fans, LeBron James did see a shadow late last night in Miami - a shadow of his former self. Let's hope this doesn't become a time-honored tradition. Continue Entry»

Miami Post Mortem

It was a rough night in South Beach. OK, really just a rough fourth quarter. Either way, the Cavaliers are now only 26-20 and LeBron isn't exactly LeBron. I think the ABJ's Brian Windhorst might still be a little upset about losing his front row seat at the Cavs games.
"But he just can't stand sitting, especially when a national television audience is watching. I know he plays Mr. Team in the media, but he's just as vain as anyone else. Yes, when it comes to stats and awards he is too, despite what he says."
He's now shooting only 69% from the foul line (Greg Oden is at 63%, left handed and blindfolded), perhaps some rest is in order. Does anyone know if the All-Star Game is nationally televised? The Bobcats are next on the schedule. We're guessing LeBron won't be playing; either voluntarily or forcibly - depending on how Stu Jackson is feeling. We're guessing LeBron gets the one-game suspension for his "inadvertent" hit on D. Wade (seen below), which in our view, was more premeditated than Kobe's.
